Rabbits fed cholesterol-rich diet, and either dried up or had no thyroid iodineatherosclerotic lesions. In the group of rabbits of potassium bromide or potassium chloride and cholesterol, all of the rabbits exhibited marked atherosclerosis. In other words, the efficacy of potassium iodide was not shared by potassium chloride or potassium chloride, then potassium was not a mitigating circumstance.
